An exciting new way to follow a great comic
Aaron Brown write:
I've been a fan of Joumana Medlej's wonderful character Malaak from the beginning. She has a depth that's lacking in many modern comic heroes. Joumana makes her tackle big things head-on, and never flinches from allowing Malaak to be human in addition to her hero's persona. The comic is exquisite.
This, however, is about the app. Simply put, this app shines as a great way to read a great comic. Its interface is minimal, and never gets in your way. It does what you expect when you expect it. The popups that helpfully translate the foreign language bits that are such an endearing part of the comic is a wonderful little boon.
Highly recommended both for content and for presentation.
Great story line
Khaled Gustav write:
I appreciate the nicely developing story line. Touching on very deep social problems presented in a modern context with a sci-fi twist. The human story is very palpable. You can read it more than once!
Well done comic app and great story
Khalil Pfaff write:
I don't think I can add much more to what the others have posted. The app interface is clean and easy to use. Of course, this being a version 1.0 there are few things that could be done in order to make the app interface even better, but as it stands it is a strong start and nicely done.
The content is great and it is nice to be able to have this comic on the iPad. Support Lebanese artists and writers and check this out. You get a good story, fantastic artwork, and some insight into Lebanese culture. I am looking forward to see some of Joumana's other books and material make it to the iPad (hint, hint) :)
